Tessa Prieto-Valdes is a woman who is always on the go. She is columnist, a host, an entrepreneur, a triathlete, an interior designer, a philantrophist, a style icon, a wife, and a mother to four amazing kids.

If you follow her Instagram account, you'll be amazed at the many events she would go in a day, and she will be traveling out of town or the country when weekend comes.

On August 17, we caught up with her at Mireio's private dining area at Raffles Makati, where she held an intimate dinner and drinks party with her friends to announce the launch of rustans.com. We sat down with her to get her reaction on the launch of Rustan's new online store:

Tell us what you love about shopping at Rustan's Department Store?

The nice thing about Rustan's is that their items are so well-curated already. I shop so often there, I know where things are right away. They're all well-displayed, and the service is just excellent.

And you know, I'm a quick shopper. I'm always running after time. If I know it's not available at Rustan's, I know that it's not available locally.

The nice thing as well about shopping there is that it's not exaggeratedly expensive. There's a variety of choices for everyone.

What was your reaction when they said that rustans.com is launching?

My reaction was, "Why did it take so long?" (laughs)

I mean, every major department store in the US already has their online store so it's great that Rustan's is now available online.

What are you most looking forward to shopping online?

I never used to care about food and plates and stuff—but now that I am always entertaining, I'm so conscious of the cutlery, the saucers, all that! Somebody once told me—of course, it was a joke—that water tastes better in a colored glass! (laughs)

What are your expectations with the new online store?

I wish that rustans.com will always have special bargains and sales. It's a great come-on for people. They go online to shop anyway, so it's a great way for them to buy some more!
