Yuko Sato’s professional journey began in journalism, spending the first half of her career as a TV journalist in Japan. With a sharp eye for detail and an insatiable curiosity, she honed her skills in questioning the status quo. But life had a surprising twist in store. After marrying into a family deeply rooted in the dental industry, Yuko’s inquisitive nature led her to a new frontier—dentistry.
Applying her investigative mindset, Yuko approached the dental world with the same rigor she had brought to journalism. She dove deep, researching everything from the history of the toothbrush to pediatric dental standards and consumer behavior. Her mission was clear: to transform the daily habit of brushing teeth into an experience that was not only effective but also enjoyable for everyone.
In 2017, this vision materialized with the creation of HAMICO Baby, an innovative toothbrush designed specifically for infants. Its ergonomic design and functionality resonated deeply with parents, leading to an extraordinary milestone: 2 million units sold in Japan within just two years, all without a single yen spent on advertising. Encouraged by this success, HAMICO expanded its range to include toothbrushes for kids and adults.
Today, HAMICO offers a complete line of toothbrushes tailored for every family member, featuring three sizes and over 20 vibrant, playful designs.
