The name “Ray-Ban” came from the brand’s first product – aviation glasses that reduced glare and did not fog up while pilots are in the air. The anti-glare glasses were born from a collaboration between the US Army Air Corps and medical equipment manufacturer Bausch & Lomb to design aviation glasses to help improve pilots’ visibility in the air.
