This summer, the team behind Criselda was inspired by the intersection between organic nature and modern art. “The world has opened up and our customer is enjoying the feeling of being free again,” they explain, “We wanted our collection to say, ‘Set no limits! Feel alive and free, and create the artistic landscape of your own life!’ There is a lot of mixing and matching going on when it comes to the prints and references we chose to use –from modern shapes to graphic images of flowers.”
The idea of having fun was an underlying factor throughout the team’s design process. One feels the lively mash up of foliage and organic elements such as flowers, leaves and summer gardens inlaid with inspirations from modern art –such as geometrics, curves, and stripes. Some standout pieces include: a shirt dress in bold red with voluminous sleeves, color-blocked separates in energizing brights such as orange and deep salmon, a silk matching set in midnight blue with a cascading cape, and an abstract-print maxi dress that can be half-buttoned or closed all the way to play with high-low proportions.
