Poolside Attraction
This summer we’re trading in our passports and resort getaways for poolside lounging and self-tanners. And though checking off destinations from our bucket lists are at a halt—yet again—we’re still optimistic about dressing for the season.
From the hottest swimsuit silhouettes to reimagining the cover-up, and accessories to match, we’ve narrowed down the Spring/Summer 2021 trends that will surely make your poolside fit the perfect sartorial attraction.
Take The Plunge
The timeless halter one-piece takes on a sultry new look with a deep plunging neckline that flatters just about anyone. Here we look to designer swimwear labels Carmen Marc Valvo and Vince Camuto Swim for their take on the favored design from the early aughts. There's not much styling needed to make this number stand out, especially when the piece itself comes with a chic draping and ring detail.
A-Plus Symmetry
Before we continue, please make sure you slather on some sunscreen when tanning at home. Trust us, you wouldn't want to rock an asymmetrical tan line for the rest of the summer.
Once you have the sunscreen out of the way, you're ready to spend the weekend taking in the sun in an asymmetrical swimsuit number. Whether you opt for a one-piece (like this tangerine number from Women'secret) or a bikini, this neckline makes for an elevated swim look.
Poof And Poplin
The cover-up is a must when thinking of your poolside wardrobe, but this season we're steering away from the standard caftan—which we still love—and opting for a crisp poplin top. Rethink this classic piece for summer styling by pairing it with a fun bikini set like this Banana Republic cropped blouse, worn with a polka dot bikini from Women'secret. It's fun, comfortable, and sharp.
True Resort Style
There's nothing more quintessential summer dressing than a linen number. We're looking at this Lotus Resortwear romper, a loved silhouette injected with a sense of joy and lightness through its fun green colorway and breezy linen fabrication. Its deep V-neckline makes for a great excuse—as if you need one—to wear a fun bandeau bikini that would match the energy of the romper itself. Is it a cover-up? Maybe. But this season we celebrate it as an outfit you can lounge in by the pool.
Take the party home
Though we're opting to stay home this summer, we're certainly going to do it in style. Whether it's hosting a cocktail party via Zoom call or simply missing the sparkle and glamour of summer parties of the past, a chic outfit is necessary to set the mood. Our look of choice? A classic bandeau bikini and a pleated A-line skirt from Ricardo Preto. It moves. It sparkles. And it's perfect for celebrating your summer nights at home.
