Fall Back to Black

Fall Back to Black

If there's one look that never goes out of style, it's an all-black number. From head-to-toe, noir will always be chic—no matter the occasion, day or night.

This season we're bringing forward the timeless hue in iterations that excite. From black-washed denim in sleek cuts to sensuous silhouettes in separates, as well as the little black dress (LBD) with a new proposition; we're falling back to black with a breathtaking edit of shapes, movements, and textures.

We're slipping into denim—beyond the classic blues—for casual looks that are stunning all day long. While for a more sublime number, we're celebrating shape and form with chic separates that create a luxurious silhouette. Sheer finds new meaning in chiffon blouses that moves with the wind. And the LBD is not so little this season. We're bringing the hemline lower and pairing it with beautiful boots for maximum impact.

Scroll on through to see more of how we're wearing the celebrated color.

Denim, as industrial and utilitarian the fabric may be, is a chic closet staple. We love its black-washed iteration, giving the classic material a beautiful, svelte finish.

Go bold and wear it as a jacket and pant look, like a Canadian tuxedo. The jacket would look cool in a boxy, oversized shape and paired with skinny jeans—yes there's no shame in bringing back the skinny cut.

There's nothing like chiffon. Its sheer opacity, floating about in the wind, creates a sensuous and chic impact. This season we're mixing it up by wearing the often formal and dainty material for the day and in black.

Pick up a black chiffon blouse from Karen Kane and pair it with sensible above-the-knee shorts and loafers. This juxtaposition of feminine and masculine, sheer and opaque, and dressy and casual is an opulent way to do black for the day.

Black in a stunning silhouette is undefeated. The powerful hue in an equally remarkable shape is a timeless and victorious look.

We're celebrating the female form with an all-black ensemble in a multitude of textures, finishes, and cuts. Pair this glittered black maillot from Women'secret with wide-leg trousers from Adolfo Dominguez, and finish with square-to sandals from Arezzo. It's perfect for night-outs with friends or a fun date that ends with drinks and dancing.

One way or another, we've all been acquainted with the little black dress (LBD). This closet staple is a woman's superpower when faced with the dilemma of having a wardrobe full of clothes but nothing to wear.

This fall we're giving the LBD a new look with a midi and refined silhouette: bringing down the hemline below the knees, the neckline higher, and the sleeves longer. Think this Ricardo Preto number with draped details and worn with block-heeled Sergio Rossi boots. Modern, sensual, and just the right amount of opulence.

A black bag is essential. No matter what you wear or where you're going, a noir-hued purse makes a luxurious finish to your looks.

This season we're not focusing on the shape or function, but rather the correlation between the dark color and the many possible textures and finishes that it may come in. From classic shapes in croc-stamped leather from Coccinelle and Furla to embellished and accessorized stunners from Rebecca Minkoff and BY FAR to classic gold and blacks from Salvatore Ferragamo and Strathberry, there's no such thing as a boring black bag.

Great shoes can carry a look—that's a known fact in fashion. We're making black shoes sexy and fun with new silhouettes and luxurious materials. Loafers come in a sleek shape with clean lines and a narrow shape, while heeled sandals see a more generous form with square toes and sensible heels, and of course, we're celebrating contemporary footwear with pointed toes and low, low, low heels.

Always remember, it's not an all-black look without striking black shoes.
